Why it feels so hard

You know what you want to do. Sometimes you can even see exactly how you could do it.

But actually getting started, deciding what to focus on, keeping track of everything or seeing something through can be a completely different story.

Maybe you have lots of ideas but struggle to turn them into action.

Maybe you make plans and systems that work brilliantly for a while… until real life happens and they disappear.

Maybe you can get an enormous amount done when something is interesting or urgent, but seemingly simple tasks can sit untouched for weeks.

Or perhaps you’re just exhausted by how much thinking, remembering, organising and mental effort it seems to take to keep everything moving.

It’s easy to assume you need to be more disciplined, more organised or better at managing your time.

But often, there’s more going on.

Executive function can be a big part of the picture.

What is Executive Function Coaching?

Executive functions (EF) are the mental skills that help us manage ourselves and turn intentions into action.

They’re involved when you start something, plan, prioritise, remember what you were doing, manage your attention, estimate time, switch between tasks and keep going when things don’t go quite to plan.

When these skills are stretched, there can be a frustrating gap between knowing what to do and actually being able to make it happen.

That’s where EF coaching comes in.

Rather than giving you another planner, productivity system or list of things you should be doing, we start with what’s actually happening for you.

💭 Why can you plan something perfectly but still struggle to start?

💭 Why does a system work brilliantly for two weeks and then vanish?

💭 Why does everything become harder when there are too many competing demands?

💭 Why can something you genuinely care about still get pushed aside until it becomes urgent?

Together, we’ll look at where things are getting stuck, understand the executive function skills and patterns that may be involved, and experiment with practical ways of making things easier.

EF coaching might be useful if you…

  • Know what you need to do but struggle to get started
  • Have lots of ideas but find it harder to turn them into action
  • Make plans and systems that somehow don’t survive real life
  • Get overwhelmed when too many things need your attention at once
  • Regularly underestimate how long things will take
  • Lose track of tasks, appointments, paperwork, messages or ideas

  • Work brilliantly one day and struggle to get going the next

  • Rely on urgency, pressure or looming deadlines to get things done

  • Feel exhausted by the amount of mental effort it takes to keep everything moving

  • Regularly wonder why things feel so difficult when you know you’re capable

Executive function differences are often associated with ADHD, autism, dyslexia or other forms of neurodivergence, but you don’t need a diagnosis to benefit from EF coaching.

You might already know you’re neurodivergent, or be exploring that possibility. Or you might simply recognise yourself in the experiences above.

You don’t need a label to do this work. We’ll work with the brain you actually have.

A regular rhythm of personalised support to help you understand what’s getting in the way, experiment with different approaches and find ways of doing things that work better for your brain and your life.

Your monthly coaching includes:

  • Weekly 45-minute EF coaching sessions
Space to explore what’s happening, understand where things are getting stuck and develop practical strategies to try in real life.

    Why the reduced rate?

I’m already certified as an Executive Function Coach and am now completing my Level 3 Certified Executive Function Coach training with Connections in Mind.

As part of that next level of training, I’m completing 50 hours of Executive Function Coaching.

While I build those hours, I’m opening a limited number of coaching spaces at a reduced rate.

Once I’ve completed the required hours, this particular reduced-rate offer will close.

Ready to work with your brain and create some you-shaped strategies?

If you’re tired of things feeling harder than they seem like they should, we can start by working out what’s actually getting in the way.

You don’t need to arrive knowing anything about executive functions, or even whether executive function explains everything you’re experiencing. That’s part of what we’ll explore together.

We’ll look at what’s happening, make sense of the patterns and experiment with practical ways of doing things that fit your brain, your circumstances and your actual life.

    Book a free discovery call

We’ll have a chat about what you’re finding difficult, what you’d like to change and whether EF coaching feels like the right kind of support for you.

    Kind Words

“Kate is very capable, kind and wise. I have enjoyed working with her and would highly recommend Kate as a coach and mentor. Before I met Kate I was lost and felt hopeless. Kate helped me see a way forward and I haven't looked back since. Thank you Kate, I will always remember how you held space for me with such compassion and kindness”

    Julie

"Since working with Kate I am now able to simply prioritise my day and make sure I don't try and cram too much in. If left to my own devices I will "appear" busy but very often nothing gets done. I've also learnt to work out what is the most important task that will help me and do that first, rather than focus on the things I like doing first. Kate was honest, caring and friendly."

    Emma

"It was so helpful to have Kate guiding me through planning and organising myself, there was nothing I couldnt do for myself if it wasn't for the overwhelm, procrastination and avoidance. Kate helped me navigate those things so I could reach conclusions and get stuff done."

    Vicky

"I most appreciated having someone to talk to who understood my behaviour and could give me kind, non judgemental, sensible advice that was really helpful. Highly recommended"
