For neurodivergent and busy brains
You know what you want, so why is it so hard to do it?
Understand how your brain works, discover what actually helps, and create you-shaped ways of doing things.
This isn’t a discipline problem
What’s actually going on
You’ve got a brilliant, busy brain operating in a world that was largely designed with a completely different kind of brain in mind.
Most advice ignores how your brain actually works. It tells you to push harder, try another system, or just be more consistent. When that doesn’t work, it’s easy to conclude that you’re the problem. You’re not…
The skills that help us plan, prioritise, focus, remember what we need to do, get started, and manage our emotions are called executive functions.
When those skills are stretched or overloaded, even things we’re perfectly capable of doing can become surprisingly difficult.
This is often part of how ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other neurodivergent differences show up day to day, although you don’t need a diagnosis to recognise yourself in any of this.
Once we understand what’s actually going on, we can stop asking “Why can’t I just do it?” and start getting curious about what might actually help.
That matters for our own brains.
And it matters for the kids growing up with brains like ours too.
There isn’t one right way
Finding what works for your brain
Understanding your brain is only useful if you can do something with that understanding.
My work brings together executive function, practical strategies and, where appropriate, subconscious work to help you understand what’s getting in the way and discover what actually helps.
Sometimes that means changing the environment or the way something is structured. Sometimes it means building a skill, trying a different strategy or looking at the patterns underneath.
We create you-shaped ways of doing things that work in real life.
Hi, I’m Kate
Executive Function Coach & Clinical Hypnotherapist
I help people understand how their brain works, what gets in the way and what actually helps, so they can find ways of doing things that work for them.
My own path here has been pretty non-linear. After years in engineering, trying to make myself fit systems that didn’t always fit me, I eventually found my way into coaching, hypnotherapy and executive function.
What ties all of my work together is a belief that we do better when we understand the brain in front of us, rather than constantly trying to make it work like somebody else’s.
And I think our kids deserve the chance to learn that earlier than many of us did.
