1:1 Support for Young People

Personalised sessions to reduce overwhelm, build confidence, and help them thrive – just as they are.

Untangling Their World

Growing up in today’s world isn’t easy. Many young people feel like they’re constantly juggling pressures – schoolwork, friendships, future plans, all while trying to figure out who they are.

Does your young person:

  • Struggle with focus, motivation, or managing emotions?
  • Feel anxious about school, exams, or being “good enough”?
  • Get stuck in unhelpful habits or negative self-talk?
  • Doubt their abilities, even when they’re trying their best?
  • Seem overwhelmed, withdrawn, or unsure how to move forward?

You’re not alone, and neither are they.

With the right support, they can feel calmer, more confident, and better equipped to handle life’s challenges.

What We Can Work On

Every young person is unique. Sessions are tailored to meet their needs, but common focus areas include:

  • Schoolwork and exam stress
  • Anxiety and emotional regulation
  • Confidence and self-esteem
  • Friendships and relationships
  • Unhelpful habits and routines
  • Identity, purpose, and belonging
  • Fears, phobias, and low mood
  • Future planning and motivation

What 1:1 Support Looks Like

Each session is a supportive, compassionate space – designed around your young person’s age, attention span, and learning style. I combine tools from executive function coaching, mindfulness, and Hypno4Children™ techniques to help them build practical skills and lasting self-belief.

They’ll walk away with:

  • A personalised toolbox of strategies that work with their brain
  • Practical ways to handle stress, emotions, and daily challenges
  • More confidence, clarity, and calm
  • A stronger sense of who they are and what they need to thrive

Executive Function Coaching

Executive functions are the brain’s self-management tools – helping us focus, plan, stay organised, regulate emotions, and get things done.

These skills are still developing in young people, especially those who are anxious, overwhelmed, or neurodivergent.

EF coaching helps them:

  • Understand how their brain works
  • Spot where they’re getting stuck
  • Learn practical tools to navigate life with more ease and confidence

Whether they need help creating systems for school, managing emotions, or building routines that actually work, EF coaching provides real-life tools that meet them where they are.

Hypnotherapy for Young People

Hypnotherapy is a gentle, imaginative way to work with the subconscious mind – helping to calm anxiety, shift unhelpful beliefs, and build inner resilience.

Using guided imagery and child-friendly visualisation techniques, I help young people:

  • Feel calmer and more in control
  • Let go of self-doubt and fear
  • Improve focus, motivation, and sleep
  • Build confidence from the inside out

As an accredited Hypno4Children™ Practitioner, I offer:

  • MindHack: To reduce anxiety, build emotional regulation, and strengthen wellbeing
  • StudyCalm: For stress-free study habits and calmer exam prep

    Kind Words

“My daughter age 9 was finding the transition to Y5 tough and was struggling with noise, organisation and navigating friendship issues. Kate helped my daughter with a range of techniques to find calm and see the positives around her and the good in herself. My daughter’s ability to calm herself and her confidence have benefited enormously. In the words of my daughter “Kate is really nice and she has fun methods”.”

    Ariana

“Thank you sooooo much for the session on Wednesday. We were astonished when he used the technique again by himself last night, and it has been so helpful.”

    Sophie

“Kate is incredible. I cannot say enough good things about her. She has worked with my daughter for about a year and I have seen such a transformation from an anxious, unhappy child to a child that feels relaxed, confident in who she is and able to deal with situations calmly. Kate has given my daughter many tools to use and the personal meditations have been brilliant. I am so grateful that we found Kate and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone. She has literally changed our lives for the better.”

    Hannah

“I couldn’t thank you enough for your support and helping me move some issues forward and learn new ways to cope.”

    Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from 1:1 sessions?

1:1 sessions are gentle, creative, and designed around your young person’s needs. Whether they’re building confidence, calming anxiety, or learning how to stay organised, we move at their pace – without pressure or overwhelm. Sessions often include grounding tools, executive function strategies, and space to talk things through. My aim is to help them feel safe, seen, and supported, while developing skills that really work for their brain.

How can 1:1 coaching help my young person?

Coaching can support emotional wellbeing, confidence, focus, and everyday life skills like planning, motivation, and managing stress. Many young people I work with feel anxious, stuck, or misunderstood – coaching gives them a space to untangle what’s going on inside, explore new ways forward, and build trust in themselves. It’s not just about strategies, it’s about shifting how they feel from the inside out.

What’s the difference between 1:1 coaching and the BBL membership?

The BBL membership is a supportive space with group learning, courses, workshops, and a growing library of tools and resources. 1:1 coaching, on the other hand, offers personalised support, tailored specifically to your young person. We dig deeper into what’s going on beneath the surface and create a plan that works just for them. Some families choose both for layered support.

1:1 coaching is deep, personalised support for your young person, tailored to their needs, goals, and brain. We work closely to build confidence, resilience, and practical tools they can carry forward.

The Brilliant Brains Lab membership is designed for parents. It offers group learning, workshops, and a growing library of resources to help you support your child at home – including tools you can use together, or share with them when they’re ready.

Some families choose both for layered support: 1:1 sessions for direct coaching, and BBL for ongoing guidance and resources.

Is 1:1 coaching suitable for young people who are neurodivergent?

Absolutely! Executive function coaching is a neuro-inclusive process, and works with your young person’s unique profile of strengths and challenges. Whether your young person is neurodivergent or just feel differnt from their peers, sessions are adapted to meet them exactly where they are. I focus on what helps them feel calm, capable, and confident – on their own terms.

How does hypnotherapy work with young people?

Children already spend a lot of their life in a hypnotic state.

The depth of their natural hypnosis depends on their age; with children under the age of 7 predominately in a theta brainwave state (equivelent to sleep or deep meditation), and from 7 to 12 years in alpha (light meditation or relaxation), and then over 12 moving into beta (focused consciousness).

This means that they are highly suggestable and respond well to hypnotherapy.

They don’t need to be guided into hypnosis, like an adult would, they can simply close their eyes and use their imagination.

Hypnotherapy might look like storytelling, guided visualisations, or calm breathing with positive suggestions woven in. It can help with things like anxiety, self-belief, or shifting tricky patterns like people-pleasing or perfectionism. It’s never about control or ‘fixing’, just giving their nervous system and subconscious mind space to settle and reset.

What if my young person is already overwhelmed? How do I know this is the right fit?

That’s often exactly when this kind of support can help the most. We start small – with calming tools, grounding practices, or simply creating a safe space to talk. I always work at a pace that feels manageable, and you’re welcome to book a free call to talk things through. If your child is feeling anxious, stuck, or shut down, this could be the gentle support they need.

How involved will I be as a parent?

It depends on your child’s age and needs. For younger children, I will invite you into the sessions. For teens, sessions are usually 1:1 (depending on their age and needs), but I keep communication open, with regular check-ins and feedback, so you’re always in the loop.

If you are staying for the session, my focus will be directed to your young person but you are very welcome to join in with the exercises and visualisations though!

Before we have the first session, we can talk on the phone (or Zoom) to discuss whatever your young person would like help with, and we can work out how it will all work.

How do I track my young person’s progress?

You’ll receive regular updates, and I build in space for reflection and review. Often, you’ll notice subtle shifts at home – more calm, clarity, or independence – even before your young person can fully articulate what’s changed.

    How do we get started?

Start by booking a free 20-minute discovery call, or sending me an email or message.

It’s a chance to share what’s been going on, ask any questions, and get a feel for whether this is the right next step. If it feels like a good fit, you are welcome to book a second free call for your young person to meet me too.

Once you’re ready to start, we’ll agree on a schedule for the sessions and book in the first session.

    I have another question…
